In June last year there was much excitement in the fashion crowd as the anouncement came from global fashion giant H&M that Melbourne was to be the first city in Australia to have it's very own department store.
The Swedish brand was pulling out all the stops for this very amazing store launch, having acquired Melbourne's iconic GPO building in the CBD, H&M being notorious for taking over iconic buildings around the world to utilise as their flagship stores.
The team behind the launch - Sydney based event giants David Grant and Kat & Co were working around the clock to get the doors open to 1000 of Melbourne's celebrities and fashion VIP's, and utilising the best of the best in the events industry to make sure this was a night to remember.
Ghost Host was invited to help execute this enormous event. Spanning over 5000 square meters and over 1 million pieces of clothing on the floor this event was huge in execution. No expense was spared with catering provided by the local and fabulous Damn Fine Foods whilst canapés were exclusively curated by local chef Adam D'Sylva. Each level had its own flower infused cocktail bar and to suit the theme of the merchandise whilst Mumm champagne flowed freely all night.
Entertainment was provided by Californian girl band Haim along with Sydney locals - Van She. This was an all exclusive, full blown party complete with shopping! Celebrations went on long into the night and nearly all guests were seen leaving with at least one H&M shopping bag!
